Developed by Accolade as their 1990 release Altered Destiny catered to MS-DOS desktop systems and later made its Amiga platform appearance in 1991. Via author Michael Berlyns design Altered Destiny uses a text parser which demands players to submit instructions for environmental engagement and story advancement. 

Through P.J. Barretts story we follow an average person who had his television fixed then wound up in the unknown alien planet of Daltere. As he arrives Barrett learns that Daltere remains in danger because Helmar stole the Jewel of Light which endangers everything throughout the galaxy. Throughout the adventure players need to direct Barrett through multiple obstacles while he works to restore order and locate a path home.

Altered Destiny requires players to solve puzzles & explore a detailed designed extraterrestrial environment. Throughout gameplay players explore multiple settings while facing one of a kind creatures and barriers which demand novel approaches to solving them. Players use point & click navigation with text based command inputs to move through Altered Destiny while enjoying both graphical interface functions and text problem-solving capabilities.
